To protect the ocean, people must first understand its value. At OceanX, we’re building global ocean literacy to transform how people around the world understand and relate to the ocean.
From ingredients in everyday products to phone lines stretching across the ocean floor, our lives are deeply intertwined with the ocean. Yet its vital role—in regulating climate, supporting health and nutrition, and powering economies—often goes unrecognized. At OceanX, we’re working to reconnect people with the ocean’s everyday significance. Through immersive storytelling, interactive learning, and public engagement, we’re making the ocean present and personal for learners of all ages and backgrounds.
From museum visitors and policymakers to students in classrooms globally, we are working to help people all over the world build personal connections with the ocean. Together with educators, scientists, artists, and cultural institutions, we develop innovative content and multimedia experiences that ignite wonder, deepen understanding, and inspire action.
